Rhino is one of the most dynamic literary magazines in the Chicago area, and it has an important presence nationally. Rhino offers creative writing workshops once a month. I've been to several excellent workshops led by Chicago-area poets -- including those led by Charlie Newman and Michael Puican. I'll be leading a Rhino workshop on 1/27.
One of the things I love about Surrealism is that its founders and early practitioners were comprised of an interdisciplinary bunch of artists. They wrote poetry and prose, worked in 2D art forms such as painting and photography, and directed and acted in movies (e.g. Entr'acte and Un Chien Andalou).
