Wednesday, October 30, 2013 (4-6 p.m.)
Chicago Public Library's
Sulzer Regional Branch (4455 N. Lincoln Ave.)
You're invited to attend a Soundwalk Poem Workshop that I'll be facilitating at the Sulzer Regional Branch this Wednesday! During this workshop participants will go on a soundwalk and create collage poems about the soundwalk.
This workshop is part of the Innovation Lab workshop series that the Chicago Public Library has been offering for the past few months. This will be the second Innovation Lab workshop that I will have facilitated; in August I facilitated an Everyday Horns and Percussion workshop at the Harold Washington Library Center.
Last summer I taught a Creative Writing Honors class to teenagers, through the Center for Talent Development at Northwestern University. The students created soundwalk poems; here's a blog post about that.
Over the past several years I have been involved with a number of soundwalks -- both as facilitator and as a participant of workshops that were led by others.
Hope to see you on Wednesday, if you're in Chicago!
